Have you taken photographs in a public place with a point and shoot camera? People don't even notice. Take out a SLR however and heads turn. For the uninitiated the SLR is only used by pros and not by the regular Joe, so that photographer must work for a newspaper or be out to make money.
Right?
Those same people that didn't notice - or didn't care - about a point and shoot may become very upset about a SLR. I personally haven' t been in any confrontations with a stranger about my photography but I have read about some. It can be scary but you as a photographer do have rights and it is wise to know them if you do a lot of shooting in public places.
